So our annual college fest Cul - Ah! happens during the first week of january. and as luck would have it, i was helping with the art and decor. and there was a crazy amount of work to be done because this year, the theme was mardi gras - and we made everything from venetian masks to lanterns to a dragon.

and there was a deadline. plus, i went to bombay for a week in december.. for another fest.. so lots of time was taken off. anyway.. the fest went off pretty well.. here are a few photos of the things that we made. i stole photos from someone else because i was too busy running around.

we called him Alan and made him from scratch. Going with the whole jester thing of course.

our other big project. it took e a long long time.



because we had 42 metres of cloth to paint.

i've been taking my little digital camera with me everywhere lately.

i don't think i told anyone here what happened to my camera. we bought another small canon digital 7.2 mp camera recently. about 6 months ago.

and a fucking stupid annoying light fingered woman who worked in my house stole it. and disappeared. leaving us house-help-less and camera-less.

i considered the latter the greater tragedy.

so now im back to the old 3.2 mp (which is annoying as hell) camera and my old and trusty pentax is out of the loop at the moment because it's mirror is stuck AGAIN and the man who aligns is it in bahrain.

anyway.. i'm going to make the most of it. so here are some photos that i took recently. on the day out with Q in fact.

she was very persistent. no food. only money.
as was she. her daughter was cute though. her eyes lit up when she saw Q.

and she was pretty perceptive as well. either that, or i need to figure out how to sneak around better.

there's a lot of construction going on in college at the moment. several buildings are being broken down. the auditorium has been demolished. it looks like a bloody wasteland.
here are some glimpses of college life.

another thing. i go to a christian college. i'm not christian and actually i'm not religious at all. it happens to be a fairly decent college and it's in my town. there are regular teachers and some of the nuns also teach. some of the nuns in the convent choose to study more within the college.
it's actually not a big deal at all but i was on my way to class one day.. and this made me laugh.
you really know you're in a convent area when you see this.

more to come later. this has been a long long post. well, more so than my earlier ones. it's because my computer has finally chosen to buck up. it used to take ages to post photos and so i gave up very easily but now it's posting them pretty fast.
